April Sooknanan

 

Committee Member

April Sooknanan is a graduate of Grambling State University in which she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Public Administration (1995) and her Master's degree in Healthcare Administration (1996).  April is a high-performance healthcare administrator with a 24-year career reflecting dedicated leadership in strategic business planning, operations management, HR and budget management, contract negotiations and closings, training and development, performance management, and regulatory affairs. April was a cheerleader from junior high school through college, a black belt in karate and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. April resides in Pearland with her 16-year-old daughter, Kendal and their 11-year-old dog, Onyx.

Tania Johnson

Tania holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management  from LeTourneau University, a Masters Degree in Information Systems with a concentration in Data Base Design. She is

Currently enrolled in the Masters Program at LeTourneau University in the Clinical Mental Health Counselors program  with the intentions of obtaining m LPC license. She is continuing her studies to obtain a Doctorate in the Clinical Psychology program. Tania resides in Rosharon, TX.

Amea Isom

Amea A. Isom is an educator, speaker, entertainer, and entrepreneur. She is the founder of Isom Inspirations, an organization designed to inspire women to be the best version of
themselves. She believes that when you look good, you feel good! Amea currently works as a Special Education Teacher at Robert Turner College and Career High School. She has a Masters Degree in Cross Categorical Special Education and Curriculum and instruction. Amea is determined to motivate and inspire every student she
encounters. She believes all children are capable of success—no exceptions!
Amea has been married to her husband Stephan for 15 years  and they have 3 children. Destiny (18), Future Nurse, Stephan Jr (14), Intellectual World Changer, and Alea (12), All-Star Performer. She is a true girlfriend and can be found traveling, hanging out with friends and family, or relaxing reading a book in her spare time.

Grace Smith

Committee Member

​

Grace is one of the many founding parents of 5+ years of Gathering Kids after school programs in Pearland, TX. She has served as Program Manager for Gathering Kids and brought her experience in application and software systems to support and help streamline the Gathering Kids process and procedures. Grace has also served on the Glenn York PTO.

Joann Woods

Joann Woods is the proud owner of Transporting Together Transportation. She loves supporting the kids in her community and is always willing to lend and helping hand where ever needed. Joann is very passionate for community, family and togetherness.
